Somewhere

"...Is that the iron railing carrying your handprints?..."

Somewhere

Everyone must be somewhere.
you sound like a mourner,
you stop here,
recollect a song of your childhood,
on calling, it leaves you,
and dies out.

You think about those cement steps
and the closed doorway,
Is that the iron railing
carrying your handprints?

What is there on the other side?
Can you hear the murmuring of a river?
Is there a painted boat anchored?
who can take you to the boat
and sail to the land of the unknown?

Silence never answers your calls.
