Distorted Love

A poem of betrayal and awakening.

The sparkling sky
Reminds me only
How dark your soul must be
Your Half truths hold no ground
My heart only sees the rain of tears

How blind was I?
The proof lays about like discarded clothes
And yet your lies ring in my ears

Words choked by tears
Hurt spewing forth
The chess game over
The cost is too much
You win, the cherubs lose,
I hurt for the unfulfilled dreams
Promises that were better left unspoken

Each step away brings another memory
Another distortion of the life I wanted
