Love At First Bite

From the first time they saw each other, they knew their love was meant to be.

From the very beginning
It was Love at First sight
You were the only one for me
I was the only one for you

We have aged together like a fine wine
We have grown together
I have learned your subtle ways
You have trained me well

I shall put none before you
I know that I am foremost to you
Everyday I arise to your loving eyes
Your kisses are what bring me awake

Each day I return home
To you awaiting me at the door
Happy to see me
Caring about my day

You listen intently
To all my woes
Despite all my faults
Your loyalty remains true

You were an easy choice for me
You had the most fight in the group
You were scared
You bit my hand
I knew then that you would always
Defend what was yours

Thank you Haley
For being my best friend

A black labrador retriever.
