Secret Smiles

Blank verse. The faces we present to the world do not always show the turbulence beneath.

Secret smiles on bland faces
Sparkles in the eyes --
Spring in the air
Lives awake in sunshine

Wondering about the grins
I compose mental images
Of calls and dramas
Psychotic traumas play out

My mind goes to a time when
Traumas and dramas ruled
Friends and foes alike
Chaotic worlds skewed

Little smiles -- meaningless really
Make me ponder for a minute
The blasé faces we usually present
Sealing away all feelings
