The Maybe-Rose

Some blossoms have a set season, but with others, you can't tell if there will be fragrance or thorns...

Walk into a spring garden
where your desire grows
The prettiest flower you will see
is called the Maybe-Rose

Its colors are a dreamscape
both flowing and surreal
The shadings of emotions
sensations you must feel

The fragrance is enchanting
the scent of dreams come true
Yet beware for in its leaves
a danger waits for you

Its thorns are sharp and jagged
and tear away the skin
The pain, it seems, won't go away
for healing to begin

So tread with both eyes open
holding your heart close
The most treacherous flower on the vine
is called the Maybe-Rose.
