Under A Cherry Moon

The poetry of vampires.

Under a Cherry Moon

The flavor of the night
A kiss from lips swollen with need
Blood tinged with fear

Supping from the living is never easy
Always the unknown lusts mixed with the lies
In order to get my fangs slivered inside

The moon shines down coldly
As I fill my mouth
With the lush ruin of a life

Stained with time and memories
Haunted thoughts of lovers never bedded
Sweetly the blood fuels me

Leaves blowing in the wind
A howl of an abandoned dog in the distance
Houses curtained and silent

Seemingly everyone is hidden
Yet I can hear the heartbeats approaching
From under a cherry moon
