Fool's Gold

"...falling heavy in smelted waves..."

God is the drain/sieve
swirling around a punctured sky
falling heavy in smelted waves
of silver/fool's gold

Sex is the drug/stain
screaming from an empty bed
laughing madly in small doses
of salvation/tired veins

Love is the violence/war
stabbing hearts with deadly eyes
bombing cancer from an ivory tower
of apathy/ruptured empathy
