Dream Jobs Keep Dreaming

"...And if someone was foolish enough to pay me..."

Dream Jobs Keep Dreaming

I always wanted to work at a bookstore,
but they wouldn't hire me.

As though they could tell I didn't want the work,
I just wanted to read books all day
and not be bothered about that.

And if someone was foolish enough
to pay me to do that,
all the better.

I'm a hard worker, I told them.
They didn't believe me.

One guy even laughed at me
and said: no you're not.

Then he told me to leave if I wasn't
going to buy something.

And since neither of us were buying
what the other was selling,
I left.
