Einstein Is Dead

and Hawking
is on his last
legs

(a poor analogy
I know)

so that the shallow end
of the pool
is crowded with all
of the human
race

and the deep end
has nothing but neglected
swim toys

and an excess of chlorine

and a few dead dragonflies
that were mating in the warring
dogfight sky

like downed planes of
a beautiful living
wreckage.
