Cotton Balls

Daginne has posted some of her poems on her fun project website www.daginne.com. She's also the co-editor of Degenerate Literature, a poetry, flash fiction, and arts E-zine, and a regular guest editor of Whispers, an online journal which paints pictures with words.

Cotton Balls

I want to be
in a bubbling
energetic state
but I can't
My head feels
like it's stuffed
with cotton balls
My usual sagacity is
smothered,
my brainwaves
can't come through
I had my workout today
I have to,
to keep up
my tight body shape
It absorbed all my vivacity
My body has been trained
but my thoughts are
virtually brain-dead
