invocation

"...a season of dogs in the year of starvation..."

invocation

and then the mistress and then the
queen and when every choice matters
there can only be sorrow in the end

and will you abandon god for
true beauty
without hesitation?

should we fuck on the kitchen floor?

meaning nothing to anyone is
just one form of safety

a slow fade before the
fist can find your throat

a season of dogs in the
year of starvation

was the joke about your father's
death the last thing i said to you?

all i remember is the
both of us naked

the sharpened teeth of st christopher
when he smiled in an unlit room

the bitter taste of kissing lips
on easter sunday
