No One Looks Good in a Defamation Suit

The publishers get antsy.
And you can hardly blame them.

They want sales upon sales
upon sales

not a defamation
suit.

You can't wear that to parties,
their legal council decides to get poetic,
no one looks good in a defamation
suit.

And you want to tell them that this
will all blow over.
That the sales will come.
The publishing industry is tornado alley
and you just have to hunker down
for the long haul.

The critics are critics for a reason.
They hate everything.
Even sex.

The ones you want are the readers.
And they love a good yarn.

Trust the readers like you would
your first born son.
