Fame

"...when men and women with cameras and microphones come to the door..."

Fame

I take my pills
not to ease pain
but to remain here
on the mother ship
for some time to
come
like my 80th year
maybe
when men and women with cameras
and microphones come
to the door of my
mansion
to interview me
for the BBC
or CBS
and my beautiful wife
greets them
at the door,
says that I am not
home,
that I went up on the
last moon-shot
and set up camp
in the Crater of Doom,
she thinks ...
or maybe in
The Sea of Tranquillity.
