Comforting Darkness

"... there was a calm like never before..."

Comforting Darkness

In the comforting darkness
veils of shadows clung to me
as if I was sticky like honey.

My heart was at peace in sweet
repose. The worms crawled on my
body and bones, taking little bites.

The last breath was taken and there
was a calm like never before.
My hunger was disposed of.
Everything was all over.

I spent all day in the night.
The little bites devoured me.
There was no more light left and
I slipped into deep darkness.
