the beatings are a drum

"...under the blows a drum machine..."

the beatings are a drum

the beatings are a drum
one bone
and another

the contortions of the body
under the blows
a drum machine

sampling the style of the masters

the old style
for old boy

flagellating the meniscus
running the stick over the cymbal

inside the bass,
the solar plexus

the timing of the violence
like the threading of the notes
marking the reason for its gravity
