January

"...In January I could start off fresh..."

January

Skip Halloween
and Thanksgiving.
Step over Christmas
and welcome January.

This year is over
for me. There has
been too much sadness.
It needs to be purged.

In January I
could start off fresh.
I'll get a new
desk calendar.

On New Year's Day
I'll get my drunk on.
I'll practice
sobriety a few

days later. I'll name
my dog January.
I'll change his name
the very next month.
