Is Love Memory?

"I thought I was in love..."

Is Love Memory?

I thought I was in love.
I thought I was the loneliest
Man on the planet
As I thought love was
All agony
And
No
Ecstasy

I thought I was in love
With you as I longed to be
With you or rather within
You and lose my conscious
Self in you, as I thought
Love was a craving eternal
Never
To
Be
Fulfilled.

But now I know what love is.

Love is a memory, singing to you
In lonely evenings, and its tune
Embracing the breeze.

Isn't love a memory?
