i'll be your karma

"...only death heavy and hard and cruel..."

i'll be your karma

you shot harpoons
at me,
sought to kill
the mermaid who only
ever sought to
save you;

so i've transformed myself
into the siren and my song is
deadly now --

find me again,
and you will not receive the love and light
i gave you once upon a time
only death heavy and hard and cruel
sharp as the metal you tried to hook me with;

and every bit as cutting --

you forced me
into a deep dark sea i had never known
made me question my worth or if i should
even be living,

and so i believe you would deserve
my siren's song;

i believe in love but i also believe in revenge --

sometimes you have to be karma
because she has too many
customers to serve,
and i can't let you break anyone else
like you broke me.
