An Impractical Proposition

"...her passion of performing poetry..."

An Impracticable Proposition

she was his honey
yet she told herself

that her honeybunch's
dumb dark decision

(not to dump her --
darling please ... damn!)

but to deter her
from pursuing

her passion
of performing poetry

and of not painting paragons --
of paying attention to skeletons

of not perfuming his places
his present and past

of penning probing
tales never ever told

about his prized parents
and their pride and profligacies

and of perfecting her proficiency
was -- pardon her -- past its best!
