literary and covid safety

Tanner earns minimum wage and writes about it. Help. Help him, for ffs.

literary and covid safety

the bastards say
we should keep all checkouts open
even if it violates the 2-meter rule,
to maximize sales.

the bastards say
we shouldn't man the doors
or enforce customer limits,
to maximize footfall.

the bastards say
if I discuss these procedural choices
online or in print
I will be disciplined,
possibly even fired

even though
any customer who comes into our shop
can see
and be a part of
these covid safety violations,
and even though
I finally have the time
to write about it,
having mysteriously caught covid.

not that I'm worried.
they don't read my stuff.

like I said:
bastards.
