Portrait of a Woman and the Poet

"...I don't know what to do in the presence of beauty..."

Portrait of a Woman and the Poet

your eyes
like wine
drunk
with light

legs like
long beaches
feet as
two shells

your body --
a glass vase
your arms --
the flowers

and your hair,
though it is still
moves like wind
through tall grassy hills

I don't know
what to do
in the presence
of beauty

I disappear
into your glory
