Winter Evening!

Madhu Gangopadhyay hails from India. Her passion for writing began when she was in school. She loves to pen down her musings at random moments. She is fiercely passionate about poetry and short stories, and her penchant for mythology can be seen in her works

Winter Evening!

It is winter again!
Your intoxicating scent,
Mingle with the chill wind!
As I sit by the fireplace
The crackling of cinder
In the grate,
Your musical laughter!
Those dainty fingers
Kissed by the glove
Yet I felt their cashmere touch!
On my cheeks!
I pull the pashmina closer,
Two decades,
It still smells of you!
Through the gaps in the blind
I catch a glimpse of the moonless
Night. Stars don't shine!
It is dark winter time!
I snuggle down in my
Lonliness! Hugging my knees
Close to my bosom!
Waiting for my broken sun to rise!
Its copper glow to light,
For spring cannot hide forever!
