Lost in a Web

Poem

Lost in a web
Confused by tangled strands of hate
Left to fend for myself
Always alone, always unwanted

This is the cry of a tormented soul
The wail of one deep in despair
Lonely and hungry
Craving a love unreal

I've seen the shadows
Creeping across the floor
Whispering about life
Snickering about emotion

Such things remain lost
Mired in the murkiness of disbelief
My inability to grab life
To live it with an open heart.
