If Only

"...as long as I had you next to me..."

If Only

if only I could go back to
the crazy acid times; when we
perambulated the Danish highways loaded
on LCD. not a modern time friendly
tale; who gives
a fuck. you didn't. I didn't -- as long
as I had you next to me. we roamed the streets,
we fought off the alien police for
the criminally sane. with you by
my side, I didn't give a damn about
modernity, about
current requirements of literature. I lived like
Buk, like Hunter,
without even knowing it. I was an outdated
stereotype, no one
bothered to inform me.

you'd say: fuck them. you'd say: burn them
all down.
if only your spirit resided within me.
