All-Star

"...cut, he quit cold turkey..."

All-Star

he had the wheels and
the good arm plus good
stick (but never did hit
in the clutch) but after
being drafted by the pro's
and then cut, he quit
cold turkey --
did not have the guts
to stick it out, continue;
he flushed his dream
down the toilet
for a cushy home-town job
with probation and parole
and to sit in a bar room
where he is now known as
The Kid Who Almost Made It.
