Distortion

By Nolcha Fox

Distortion

I wander in parched dryness.
Desert heat haze
bewilders me, translucent
waves shimmering,
distorting the road,
mirage of water.
Intoxication of being
blurs my vision.
Rhymes sing
between my ears,
an acoustic haze.
I grope through
vapor, sticking
to my skin.
Perplexed, uncertain,
dazed.
