Auditorium

"...The auditorium of my mind has three sections..."

Auditorium

What is the motive?
If I think of my audience
           at the table
marveling at some treasure
           of gesture
than what is the value –

in my kitchen, the dance moves
are always smooth. The timbre of my voice,
a perfect match.

For whom am I performing?

The auditorium of my mind
has three sections. Sometimes there’s
a face I know, collected in some moment
of light.

The rest of the audience is faceless,
voiceless, a projection of myself projecting.

I fumble the dance move on purpose.
