This Night
(Ghazal)

Surrender yourself at my altar this night,
we have travelled way too far this night.

The captive is as free as the captor,
no prison will hold a bar this night.

The last one has withered last spring,
pray give me a fresh scar this night.

Your honest tears set the night ablaze,
no, we don’t need no star this night!

They say each heart has a jar of fancies --
we will open up that jar this night.
