Liquid Gold

"...a marriage of rock and fluid..."

Liquid Gold

Now a strong wind, now a misty breeze
on the derrick floor,
falls on the thin arteries.

Offshore sky is a pure spontaneity.
seabirds enter, exit from the net
arresting the struggle of light.

Steel pipes want to touch the
feet of liquid gold in a marriage of rock and fluid,
untamed, flowing all around.

The mast is ready to answer the sky in silence.
bubbles swell, dolphin’s eye
wash the soft wounds.

Twilight sieving through the iron bar,
the wobbly mind torques into a dogleg
you know you are in the wrong path.
