On the Couch

By Taylor Dibbert

On the Couch

It’s been some months now
Of him sleeping
On the couch,
He started doing this
Because of London,
It seemed that she
Didn’t want to sleep
In the bedroom any longer,
He’s not sure
What that means,
He just knows that
It’s a behavioral change,
And so every night
After he brushes his teeth,
He grabs his pillows
And a blanket
From his bedroom
And heads to the couch,
The couch that’s quite close
To his London,
His London who is usually
On her pink doggy bed
At that hour of the night,
Dreaming big dreams
And leaving nothing,
Absolutely nothing
On the table.
