Life is a Commitment for the Long Haul

When I go out of my house for a stroll
I discourage firmly all such who troll
Those for whom life has been more of a crawl.

On the way stand stately houses sky tall
On which ivy creepers love to crawl
But over time, these houses overhaul.

The ships are out on the sea for a trawl
And are likely to bring in a big haul
Unless a misfortune should them befall.

Cursed is the day with a heavy rainfall
And I see my dog in a happy sprawl
Like me on stealing a soccer ball.

As politics is about protocol
The wealthy seldom dream of a windfall
And the poor quite often eye a shortfall.

Life is a commitment for the long haul.
