Of an Untold Tragedy

Kiromil Baroroh (she/her) is a writer based in Indonesia. She speaks through the written word, yet she also finds joy in visual arts and melody because words often fall short of capturing her emotions.

Of an Untold Tragedy

In the darkness of thought in space and time
and spherical wanderings in the footnotes and notion past,
there flashed across my mind;
A precious record of mine that bound
Turning laughs to fears of how I’ve missed a thing: disgrace
The pupils of their eyes that owned,
took their souls battling between good and evil
Yet they are sinners
As their nightmares spread uncovered
Still no soul revealed;
Conviction stayed
I made peace with pretense existing
And what of lasting life on earth
Our souls trapped in bleak world and sinned
