Forever Gone

"...A revelation, wanting to be immortalized in words..."

Forever Gone

There was something here a moment ago.
I sensed it. I saw it. I could almost touch it.
Now it is gone.

A thought. An idea. A revelation,
wanting to be immortalized in words.
I know it was here.

Watching it so easily slip away,
while losing momentum.
My mind cannot call it back.

Words cannot save me.
I cannot save words.
A futile attempt.

Old age can be so cruel.
I know it was there. I felt it drift free.
It is gone now. Forever gone.

I lose thoughts in the ether daily. As I age it's funny what you remember and what you don't. Congratulations once again
