Another Another

"...at least there's still long walks at night..."

Another Another

Original as a sunset
representing a dying breath,
while creative bankruptcy consigns
a car loan,
using a pen name like “John Smith,”
but at least there's still long walks
at night, losing it all to the darkness,
until porch lights remind me
my collected works didn't pay the power bill
and words like these didn't put someone on the moon
or splatter Hitler's brains on a love seat,
yet the lines still line up,
knowing my firing squad is shooting
blanks among bloodless flowers,
who mistakenly believe they mean love
instead of death.
