This grief like mine alone

"...soul rustling back and forth to find comfort where there's none..."

This grief like mine alone

i rifled for hope
in the finest liquor bottles,
gulping away pains that comes–
with losing a loved one.
i picked the cloud,
& cried in thunderbolt
to compress the presence of
guilt, anger, agony;
the drought in my tongue
when i could cry no more,
that claps my cheeks sore.

my agonized soul
rustling back and forth to
find comfort where there's none–
or my mother's pined self
who's on black in ramble?
adieu! adieu!
from sad mournful voices
of sympathizers, & condolences
yet i wear fragments of grief.
this grief--
like its mine alone to grieve
& with each day passing,
reliving the memories of the child
who once had a father.
