Morning

By Patrick Devine

Morning has broken
Like it did the first day
like it will the last day.
We stand heart and hand joined, God's praises spoken.

The light of spring comes with this dawn,
On minds turned to heart felt request
Knowing we'll get only what's best
Winter's numb grasp is broken and gone.

The creator of all hears our joy,
At his touch we deploy,
All our wishes, saved through the year,
On success of work and blessing of those dear.
God grant most this one behest,
Give us each what is best
