The Youth Have Spoken, Just Loosen

The youth said: we are old enough to know,
to school and caution the old and odd not to sow
sickening seeds of selfishness as they seek to ascent
or hold on. Old, odd folk, don’t criminalize descent.

The youth declared: we are old enough to appreciate
and acknowledge those who strive to highlight and animate
the spirit of humanity and hope by turning their path and pain
into purpose and peace. Old, odd folk, don’t turn futures into a ruin.
