Blair Witch Snail Swap Project

What happens when science and icky things merge on a dark and stormy day?

Gardener Ruth Brooks found that if she collected the snails from her garden and dumped them off in the middle of nowhere, they would find their way back. The BBC made it a Citizen Science Project. Glee! I thought, and decided I would try it myself.

It was a dark and stormy day.

I collected my wee plastic tub of snails and set them to dry off in the garage while I ate dinner.

Then the power went off.

This flashed through my mind:

So when the power came back on, I dumped the snails in the back yard and decided to wait to become a citizen scientist until I could hire some expendable lab technicians.

Safety first.
