Proliferation In The Wrong Place

unemployed masses marched
to the authorities demanding
one thing and one thing only

-- space for industrial activity --
they claimed they loved churches
but factories couldn't be cathedrals

they had seen an economic incongruity
during the reign of the unseated strongman
where the industrial site was idle or "churchified"

placard-carrying protesters presented their petition
the bunch had young and old graduates and traders
jobs! not jokes and economic yokes! --they vocalised
