The Insanity of It All

"...Lost loves and ugly little secrets..."

The Insanity of it All

Minds cracking open like
fragile eggs, spilling out
their messy viscus contents.
Ideas oozing out with no
cohesion, in the madness
called creativity. Questionable
images, fighting for a place of
prominence, on a sky painted
orange with the brush strokes
of false hope.
Oh, the insanity of it all!

Hair pulling nights, struggling
with metaphors, eyes bleary
and red. Thoughts stretched
as thin as a silk thread on a
spindle, weaving tales of woe.
Lost loves and ugly little secrets
fill our modern songs and verse.
Background noise seeping
through, swallowing up the
truth. While rage rips open
another fresh wound.
Oh, the insanity of it all!
