You stood beside me
as I crossed the wide green sea.
You stood beside me
as life told me what to be.
You stood beside me
as I was given the choice: crown or death.
You came for me
when the sea called us both.
You stood beside me
as we were pursued. We sailed against all winds.
You stand beside me
in a new land.
It is time for me to show you what you mean to me.
It is time for children and warm fires and stories of great deeds.
