Compared to This

"...What once seemed to be the worst of days..."

Compared to This

What nearly killed me yesteryear
ages like fine wine
to produce only curled lips

A sweet glass of smiles
What once seemed to be the worst of days
turns out to be a walk in the park
as life moves forward to tougher trials

A constant gavel of karma crashes
What felt to be worth dying for
makes more sense in retrospect
as simply being a case of child's play

A break in the heart of truth
