The Great Escape

"...this man, who knows not how to be..."

The Great Escape

I escaped so many brides
and greater still they escaped
this groom, who not once
tied that knot; by the grace
of god, I am still untied.

I escaped so many brides
and greater still they escaped
this man, who knows not
how to be; there's no one
like me, that can't be denied.

I escaped so many brides,
and greater still they escaped
this fool; for there is
maybe one, a fool just
like me; who is still untied.
