Moonshadow

"...hopin’ light will stay the night..."

Moonshadow

-- with apologies to Yusuf/Cat Stevens

Standin’ at some waterside
not workin’ any more
charmed by a tuneful little
guitar lick, daily

hopin’ still the light will find me
thinkin’ about the things to come
crashing through the big crescendo
hopin’ light will stay the night

show me good the other side
of all this freedom; I’ve been cryin’
lately, hoping still to see some
glimmer on the water

maybe a psychedelic tree
as teaser and the firecat find
the moon stuck in a barn roof
looking suspiciously like

a yellow submarine, maybe
we’ll all jump on it like a
peace train, holy roller

out at the darkness’ edge.
