no turning back

"...no one believed war was coming..."

no turning back

it was a day like no other
a day with no return

it was a day Hope vanished in a smother
a day when cities burn

i felt it in the air,
the sadness and despair
i felt it in my bones, the
pending paths to the unknowns

it was a day we became refugees
a day to be pencilled down in anthologies

it was a day our innocence was forsaken
a day people’s lives were taken

no one believed it happening
no one believed war was coming
yet we were boarding the last bus
it was a survival between them and us

it was a day childhoods were cut short
a day sanity lost support

it was a day i grew up
a day humanity, once again, screwed up
