Penguin Provender

"...Otherwise he’d freeze his toes..."

Penguin Provender

The penguin swims beneath the ice
catches small fish in his snouty beak
swallows them wiggling in a trice
to nourish his blubbery physique.

I think it prudent of the penguin
in diet matters to be sanguine.
Otherwise he’d freeze his toes
standing there upon the floes.
