Born and brought up in Kolkata, India, having done his Masters in English Literature from Calcutta University, Raja Chakraborty is a bilingual poet writing in Bengali and English. He has published four books of 'nonsense rhyme' in Bengali and three books of English poems all of which have been well-received and critically acclaimed. Raja has a flair for humour and satire which finds expanse in his Bengali rhymes. He is more towards the serious and philosophical in his English poems. He also doodles, sketches and paints apart from being a keen sportsman. Raja contributes regularly to magazines and anthologies.
