Peek of the Week 066

By Sand Pilarski

White-throated sparrow

Winter of 2005 was the first time I saw a white-throated sparrow. The pure white spot under the beak looked like the beard of a lawn gnome. I waited for a chance when the light wasn't too dim for photos, and captured this little fellow. When I opened the picture in Photoshop, I was astounded to see the bright yellow flecks on his head-stripes!

Camera: Olympus C-765 Ultra Zoom
