Time

Ali Ashhar is a poet, short story writer and columnist from Jaunpur, India.

Time

A mellifluous smile casts an unending arc;
the dreary horizon languishes a bit
the moment outshines the radiance of moon
which lays shy beneath the layers.
The dark didn’t engulf the light
nor did the light succumb to darkness;
the waves across the sea have known
everything in its own timeline.
The melodies interchange
we listen to what cosmos hum.
Time has its own flow;
the entities of the universe are its vices,
experience the product and
somehow, life recapitulates between the two.
