Peter Mladinic
Peter Mladinic is professor emeritus at New Mexico Junior College, a former president of the Lea County Humane Society, and an advocate for animals in need. A native of New Jersey, he lives in Hobbs, New Mexico with his partner and their six rescue dogs.

Peter Mladinic is the author of five books of poems: Lost in Lea, Dressed for Winter, and Falling Awake in Lovington, published by the Lea County Museum Press; Knives on a Table and (due out in November 2023) Voices from the Past, published by Better Than Starbucks Publications. He also edited two books Love Death and the Plains, and Ethnic Lea, available from the Lea County Museum Press. He is professor emeritus at New Mexico Junior College, a former president of the Lea County Humane Society, and an advocate for animals in need.
